Spring Programme 2018

Indoor meetings begin at 7.30 pm in the Hall, Holy Trinity RC Church, Lichfield Road, Sutton Coldfield, unless otherwise stated. Outdoor meetings normally end by 4.30-5 pm, but finishing times and distances of outdoor meetings are approximate.

Please check with the Secretary or the Leader before attending an outdoor meeting, since these may have to be cancelled or changed.

Please feel free to contact the Secretary if you have any queries or have difficulty in getting to a meeting.

Sat, 10 Mar 2018 Visit to Pelsall North Common and Canal. Meet at 2pm. There is parking in Moat Farm Way (WS3 5BW) and the estate leading off it: please don't obstruct residents. Alternatively, if you want to have lunch beforehand, you can park at the nearby Fingerpost Inn. Meet at the entrance to Nest Common Road (OS map ref: ). The site includes scrub, heathland and canals. Leader: Peter Coxhead.
Thu, 22 Mar 2018 6 pm for 6:30 pm. Annual Dinner at the Country Kitchen, (in Moor Hall Drive, off Little Sutton Lane or Weeford Road, Sutton Coldfield). Cost per head £15. Members are welcome to bring a guest. Bookings to Kate Ashcroft at the February meeting or as soon as possible afterwards, please.

Sat, 12 May 2018 Visit to Brankley Pastures, a Staffs WLT site where they are recreating “wood pasture” (website). Meet at 2pm in the site car park, reached by going through Barton-under-Needwood on the B5016, then right onto Barton Gate/Forest Road, then left onto Scotch Hills/Scotch Hills Lane (OS map ref: ). Leader: Mich Moore.
Tue, 12 Jun 2018 Evening meeting – walk in Longmoor Valley, Sutton Park. Meet at 7pm in Banner's Gate Car Park (OS map ref: ), Sutton Park. Leader: Peter Coxhead.
Sat, 14 Jul 2018 Visit to Brandon Marsh Nature Centre (HQ of the Warks WLT). Meet at the Visitor Centre at 11 am (website, post code CV3 3GW; OS map ref: ). Leader: Lilian Holmes.

Visitors are welcome at any meeting, indoors or out. A nominal charge of £2.50 is made for an indoor meeting.
